History

The Canadian Board for Respiratory Care, Inc. was incorporated in 1989. Its mandate is to provide an examination for credentialing of the highest educational caliber for Respiratory Therapists.

The CBRC was incorporated to ensure an “arms length” relationship between the examination process and the credentialing bodies (The Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists, The College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta, Manitoba Association of Registered Respiratory Therapists, The College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario).

The Canadian Board for Respiratory Care, Inc. is governed by a Board of Directors.

The Examination Committee of the CBRC was developed to reflect the diversity and scope of the practice nationally.
